First it was “smartphones”, then “smart cars”, and now smart bassinets?!? This is getting out of hand! The Graco Sense2Snooze and the 4moms mamaRoo Sleep bassinet are two of the top contenders in the smart bassinet market and they both come loaded with cool, smart features to help parents get some much-needed sleep.
When it comes to smart bassinets, nobody can beat the famous SNOO (yet). The SNOO smart sleeper is the clear winner in the smart bassinet game with its patented technology and scientifically proven improvement in baby sleep. But not everyone has $1300 to spend on a bassinet (Note: the SNOO also has a rental option – see my SNOO rental review).
Enter the cheaper, yet very impressive contenders: the Sense2Snooze vs 4moms.
Both of these great smart bassinets come in at a similar price range (Graco $300, 4moms MamaRoo $350) which is a fraction of the SNOO’s price. And they deliver a TON of value.

How does the Graco Sense2 Snooze bassinet work
The Graco Sense2Snooze smart bassinet stands out thanks to its cry detection. Not only does this smart bassinet move, vibrate and play sounds, it also detects your baby’s cry and starts a series of motion/vibration/sounds to soothe him back to sleep.
Graco is a leader in baby products so it’s no surprise that they have entered the smart bassinet market.
The Sense2Snooze has three different levels of soothing motions that help rock your baby back to sleep without parent interference. It also comes with 2 vibration levels and a bunch of soothing sounds that include nature, white noise, and music.
Tip: stick with white noise for your little one to mimic the sounds of the womb he’s already used to.

The 4moms bassinet vs Graco Sense2Snooze comparison
Let’s take a look at how the 4moms and the Graco smart bassinets stack up against each other.
Vibration
The Sense2Snooze
The Graco smart bassinet has 2-speed vibration settings (low and high) to help further soothe and comfort your baby. Some babies are very comforted by vibrations where others do not like it so much.
The mamaRoo
The original version of the 4moms Sleep bassinet came with a vibration feature that was quickly removed due to some manufacturing issues faced by the company. The latest version of the mamaRoo bassinet (starting October 2020) does not have a vibration feature.
Soothing Motions and Movement
The Sense2Snooze
The Sense2Snooze has 3 different motion speeds but only one motion type. The Graco bassinet moves in a “back and forth” direction along the centerline of your baby’s body (head to toe) on the same plane, it does not move up and down.
The mamaRoo
The mamaRoo stands out with 5 unique motions and 5 different speeds for each. The motions include car ride, kangaroo, tree swing, wave, and rock-a-bye. You can try them all out until you find the best one for your baby. The motions are very smooth and move in a combination of up-down and side-to-side.
Sound/white noise
The Sense2Snooze
The Graco bassinet comes with white noise, 10 sleepy songs, and 10 other soothing sounds. These are nice-to-have features but in my opinion white noise is more than sufficient for your babies.
The mamaRoo
The 4moms bassinet has 4 unique white noise sounds: ocean, fan, shh, and rain. The sound comes from under the bassinet mattress and creates a really nice sleeping environment for the baby.
Connectivity/App
The Sense2Snooze
The Snese2Snooze bassinet does not have any app connectivity.
The mamaRoo
The mamaRoo bassinet has app connectivity through the 4moms app and pairs with the bassinet through Bluetooth. The app gives you full control of the bassinet motions, sounds, and timer.
Cry detection
The Sense2Snooze
The Graco Snese2Snooze has a microphone and algorithm that detects your baby’s cry. Once it detects the cry it starts a series of motion, vibration, and sounds to help soothe your baby back to sleep.
The mamaRoo
The mamaRoo Sleep bassinet does not have a cry detection feature.
Weight/Age limits
The Sense2Snooze
The Snese2Snooze smart bassinet has a weight limit of 20lbs. It also warns that your baby should stop using the bassinet once it can roll over on his own or pull himself up.
The mamaRoo
The mamaRoo Sleep bassinet is rated up to 5 months, 25lbs, or until your baby can roll over or sit up on his own.
Price
The Sense2Snooze
The regular price of the Graco Sense2Snooze is $300 but you can find this bassinet on special a few times per year for $250.
The mamaRoo
The 4moms mamaRoo Sleep bassinet MSRP is $350.
The Sense2Snooze or the mamaroo sleep bassinet – Which one is best?
Both of these smart bassinets offer a ton of value for the price. Depending on the features you want you may choose to go with either one.
The main difference between them is that the Graco comes with cry detection whereas the 4moms comes with 5 unique motions and App connectivity.
Other features are very comparable and depending on your taste you could swing either way.For more smart bassinet comparisons, check out the SNOO vs mamaRoo.
